As Chief Operating Officer at WATG, Peter leads the firm’s global Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Legal/Risk Management/Insurance, Information Technology and Innovation teams.
With over a decade of financial and strategic leadership experience, Peter has been involved in creating and improving WATG’s capital structure, financial systems, IT infrastructure investments, and WATG’s people programs. Peter’s role covers the firm’s seven offices across four countries and five professional advisory services. While focusing on the firm’s future in technology and innovation, he believes the next frontier for WATG is to continually evolve the firm’s design tools and technologies to embrace the ever-evolving palette of global resources and new skills.
Peter has built his background in finance and accounting working for medium and large-scale corporations. Prior to joining WATG, Peter worked at Stantec, a publicly traded planning, engineering and architecture firm (formerly The Keith Companies), where he was corporate controller and responsible for a finance and accounting group comprised of over 75 people, managing annual revenues in excess of $250 million, and served as a key member of their mergers and acquisition team.
Additionally, Peter served as corporate controller with Hines Horticulture, Inc., a publicly traded $425 million large-scale supplier of ornamental shrubs, color plants and container-grown plants with commercial nursery facilities throughout the United States. He also gained substantial experience as a Certified Public Accountant with Kieckhafer, Schiffer & Co., LLP, a medium sized public accounting firm that provides complete accounting, tax, and advisory services to public companies, mid-market private companies, and other businesses.
After graduating from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Peter successfully completed his California Certified Public Accountant licensing requirements within two and a half years of public accounting discipline. Peter holds an MBA from the University of California – Irvine, with a specialty in strategy and leadership. To complement his financial background, he recently completed a rigorous two-year professional program in real estate development at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
