Hospitality Design
our approach
Our knowledge, appreciation and respect of cultures across the world is what enable us to create moments of hospitality like no one else.
WATG and Wimberly Interiors bring together advisory, master planning, architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture expertise to shape destinations that are authentic to place. We immerse ourselves in the culture, history, and ecology of the places we work.
For over 80 years, we’ve held an unwavering commitment to design innovation and excellence. We make it our responsibility to continually expand the art and craft of hospitality design, amplifying guest experience and delivering long-term client success. We work at the intersection of commercial rigor and creative ambition, designing experiential places that nurture and awaken the imagination, inviting a feeling of escape, relaxation and discovery.
True luxury in the modern age has shifted; the places we create allow for memories to be made and serendipity to weave its magic.
Our Legacy
WATG was founded in Honolulu in 1945, at a moment when the Pacific tourism industry was just beginning to define what luxury travel could mean. Since then, we’ve designed more than 700 built projects across more than 170 countries and territories, working alongside the world’s most respected hotel brands and independent developers.
Independent to this day, we are a global integrated design firm specializing in Advisory, Master Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design. We are a team of creative, world-traveling professionals designing landmark urban and leisure destinations with nine offices globally.
Our first hospitality project, the renovation of the Royal Hawaiian Resort, Waikiki in 1946.
Shangri-La Garden Wing, our first project in Asia in 1978.
Our Work
Prestigious, groundbreaking, and highly successful, our work has positioned us as the global leaders in integrated luxury hospitality design. From luxury island resorts and urban hotels to mixed-use entertainment destinations and property renovations, our work spans every typology in the hospitality spectrum.
