WATG Chosen as Architect and Interior Designer for New Trump at Cap Cana Project

Orlando, March 2008

Destination design firm WATG has been selected as the design architect and interior designer for the new five-star Trump at Cap Cana hotel/condominium project in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. Located on 29.6 acres, the site is comprised of lush landscape and a natural white-sand beach. The project will include more than 300 keys, a 25,000-square-foot spa (including floating treatment rooms), and 15,000 square feet of meeting space.

The architecture is inspired by the contemporary interpretation of island design. Clean lines and details in conjunction with natural, indigenous materials will create an upscale destination that is sensitive to the environment.

“Whether vacationing in a one-story villa nestled in the heart of the property, or staying at the penthouse level of the hotel structure with distant views to the Caribbean Sea, Trump at Cap Cana has many opportunities for creating spectacular private environments suitable for luxury–minded guests,” said Mark Yoshizaki, associate vice president for WATG, in the firm’s Orlando office.

WATG specializes in hospitality, leisure and entertainment design from its offices in Orlando, Irvine, Honolulu, Seattle, Singapore and London. The firm is best known for such internationally-acclaimed projects as Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas; Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa; Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea; Hotel Bora Bora, French Polynesia; Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at Walt Disney World Resort; and The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
