Plum Blossom-View
Balancing convivial energy with contemplative beauty, Plum Blossom-View offers a versatile venue grounded in heritage and nature.
At a glance
Plum Blossom-View is the all-day dining restaurant at Yanbai Villa, Yanqi Lake, Beijing, China, designed by Wimberly Interiors. The design interprets the 12th-century Song painting “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains” through spatial experience, with timber lattice screens referencing traditional Chinese architectural motifs, glass vitrines as seating dividers, and a palette of ochre, earthy tones, and brass. An open kitchen and buffet stations serve as visual focal points that reinforce the restaurant’s layered narrative of mountain, water, and cultural heritage.
all-day dining
The sophisticated Plum Blossom-View all-day dining restaurant at Yanbai Villa extends the hotel’s narrative of sanctuary and cultural reverence into a vibrant yet intimate culinary setting. Balancing convivial energy with contemplative beauty, it offers a versatile venue grounded in heritage and nature.
Inspired by the reimagination of A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains by Wang Ximeng, Plum Blossom-View translates the poetic language of blue-green Shan Shui into spatial experience. The restaurant unfolds in layered scenes, with open kitchen and buffet stations as animated focal points that celebrate craftsmanship and echo the painting’s depth and shifting perspectives.
material authenticity
Timber lattices form recurring three-dimensional motifs, reinterpreting traditional Chinese screens in a contemporary way. Glass vitrines with curated objects create intimacy between seating areas, while warm ochres, earthy tones and brass accents reflect the blue-green palette and the dialogue between mountain and water.
In the spirit of the collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Wang Shu of Amateur Architecture Studio, Plum Blossom-View expresses craftsmanship and material authenticity as new luxury, creating a social landscape within a sanctuary where culinary theatre and cultural narrative come together.
Dining is Theater
At Wimberly F&B, we believe that great restaurants aren’t just designed they are choreographed. Every detail moves in rhythm; the pace of service, the flow of light, the sound of laughter, the quiet precision of a kitchen in motion.
