Lido House is a 130-key boutique hotel in Newport Beach, California, designed by WATG’s Architecture + Design Consultancy and Landscape Architecture studios for R.D. Olson Development. The architectural character draws from a west coast interpretation of Cape Cod style, described as “Newport Beach Nautical”, through used brick, wood siding, ironwork, dormers, and cupolas that ground the contemporary building in the area’s coastal heritage. The property features five custom-designed three-storey cottages and Newport Beach’s only rooftop bar, offering panoramic views across the bay and the Pacific Ocean.

The vision of R.D. Olson Development, with architecture by WATG, Lido House was designed with an effortless sense of style and a definitive beach house vibe. The hotel feels fresh and contemporary, without sacrificing the historical charm of the area.
Leveraging the stunning site, arriving at Lido House is like arriving home, the scale and details feel authentically residential. Guests are welcomed with elegant landscape features, grand ficus trees, and native Southern California plantings.
The architectural character is “Newport Beach Nautical”, a west coast interpretation of historic east coast Cape Cod Style, drawing on the unique marine and coastal amenities, from which the idyllic Newport Beach destination has evolved. The material palette combines classic tactile materials such as used brick, wood siding, trim work, ironwork, with historic roof elements such as dormers and copulas.
Lido House features Newport Beach’s only rooftop bar, providing guests with views of the picturesque bay and the Pacific Ocean. The dramatic rooftop patio features the ‘Ultimate Cabana’ located in the circular tower at the corner of the building, offering the best views from the entire property.
