Architects Create Structural Masterpieces Out of Cake

The Great Architectural Bake-Off saw creatives trade blueprints for buttercream

Ten architectural firms descended upon the Center for Architecture last night to construct competing designs in an unlikely medium: cake. Inspired by the decidedly British television competition The Great British Bake-Off (which has also found cult TV status Stateside), the second annual Great Architectural Bake-Off New York City (part of the city’s annual Archtober festival) saw a host of the city’s top firms re-create some of the world’s most iconic buildings—including some of the year’s buzziest projects.
