WATG and Wimberly Interiors Bring the Great Architectural Bake-Off to New York City
By WATG
September 23, 2016
We have witnessed some of the worlds most iconic buildings rise out of butter and flour at the hands of some of the biggest design firms in London for the past two years and we are thrilled to bring the Great Architectural Bake-Off to New York City, on Tuesday, October 11th .
The challenge will be to create the best interpretation of a building or landmark entirely out of cake. In association with Archtober, Architecture and Design Month, New York’s finest architecture and design firms will battle it out at Gallery 151. We expect temperatures to rise and the gloves to come off in what plans to be a fantastic culinary event. The creation and team that rises to the occasion will be crowned the winner at 6pm.
Our esteemed panel of judges include: Stacey Shoemaker Rauen, Editor in Chief for Hospitality Design (HD) Magazine; Benjamin Prosky, Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter (AIANY) and the Center of Architecture; Michael Laiskonis, Creative Director of New York City’s Institute of Culinary Education; and David Graver, Senior Editor of Cool Hunting. The judges will base their decision on the most realistic representation, most creative use of materials, and tastiest building.
