The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino

CHALLENGE The design challenge was to create a 3,036-suite, luxury hotel, casino, convention, resort and entertainment complex that replicates the architecture and opulence of Italy's most romantic city. Other challenges included the placement of a canal and swimming pool on the upper level, locating the retail area on top of the casino, and a fast-track schedule.

SOLUTION To capture the evocative allure of Venice, its well-known icons - The Doge's Palace, Campanile, Bridge of Sighs, and Rialto Bridge - were meticulously incorporated into the design, within a setting of lagoons graced by gondolas and traversed by high arched bridges. The Venice theme was carefully woven throughout the entire project.
