The opportunity was to create a contemporary luxury oasis in Singapore that would seamlessly blend with the lush green waterside surroundings. The objective was to design a space that capitalizes on the magnificent waterway views and offers residents a truly immersive experience of waterfront living. The architectural challenge was to harmoniously integrate hotel, residential, and commercial establishments within a setting that exudes a sense of escape while being conveniently close to downtown Singapore.

The design concept for W Singapore Sentosa Cove was driven by the ambition to celebrate the unique waterside location and create an environment that nurtures a vibrant, contemporary luxury experience. Drawing inspiration from the undulating wash of the waterways and the yachts moored on either side of the peninsula, the architectural form was envisioned to mimic the fluidity and grace of the surrounding waters.

The key focal point of the design is the shell-shaped roof, which gracefully hovers above the rooftop garden. This distinctive feature not only provides an iconic visual identity but also symbolizes the harmony between the architectural design and the natural landscape. The shell shape pays homage to the oceanic setting while also serving as a protective canopy for the rooftop garden, offering a serene oasis amidst the bustling city.
