Jin Koyama, Associate Vice President, has more than 27 years of international architectural experience. Jin has had combined roles as a project manager and senior designer on various notable projects around the globe. Having gained invaluable experience living and working in USA, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore, brings a wealth of knowledge to every project. His attention to detail assures the successful delivery of a quality project. Experience as both a project manager and designer, he excels in the practical application of architectural design on construction sites and values the economic and programming aspects of the building process.
Jin began his design career in Los Angeles and later worked with the late Kisho Kurokawa in Tokyo, Japan. As lead designer, he worked on-site for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport project in Malaysia. As an associate and senior designer for a Malaysian-based architecture firm, GDP Architects he led the design of the highly acclaimed Express Rail Link Train Stations. Jin’s design expertise includes hotels, resorts, high rise, mixed-use, retail, residential, office, airports, train stations, museums, and cultural art center projects.
Jin was the project manager and lead the design of the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and St. Mary’s Residences, a highly successful residential project in Kuala Lumpur. Recently Jin has been the project manager on the future Rosewood Tanah Lot resort in Bali, Indonesia and The Burau Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia which is both due to open in 2017 as well as a large mixed-use development in Chengdu China that includes a luxury hotel, high-rise residences, and an extensive retail promenade.
