James Curtis

James brings over 30 years of experience to the WATG team, specializing in the creation of built landscapes.

Throughout his career, he has led the design development and construction documentation for major master planning and landscape architecture projects, with a focus on design coherence, constructability and quality assurance, resulting in successful and award-winning projects throughout the USA and Middle East.

Having previously held leadership positions within firms including POD, Inc., Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc., Peter Walker, William Johnson and Partners, EDAW | AECOM and Workshop West: Ken Smith Landscape Architect, James brings a unique and varied experience and perspective to each and every project.

His portfolio includes the Orange County Great Park Western Sector Phase 1 in Irvine, California; Playa Vista, a mixed-use pedestrian-oriented community on the former Hughes Aircraft Company site in Los Angeles; The Preserve, a 5,430-acre master planned community in Chino, California; The Royal Hawaiian Center, the revitalization of a shopping center adjacent to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki, Honolulu; Lulu Leisure Island, a proposed destination resort in Abu Dhabi and Upper Newport Bay Regional Park, a wildlife habitat, tidal marsh and recreational open space in Newport Beach, California.
