About

Tom Sykes received his Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1974, laying the foundation for more than 45 years of architectural design and master planning experience. In 1979, he founded SOSH Architects and grew the practice from a solo operation into a team of approximately 40 design professionals and support staff.

Now at WATG, Tom brings this depth of experience to a wide range of large-scale projects for both public and private sector clients. His work reflects a longstanding commitment to improving the communities he serves, with notable contributions to schools, municipal facilities, community buildings, and resorts. He approaches each project with a fresh perspective, developing creative planning and design solutions that meet and exceed client goals.

Regarded as an expert in hospitality and casino design, as well as city and resort planning, Tom co-founded Atlantic City’s Special Improvement District and has lectured at numerous professional forums, including Hospitality Design, the London Gaming Conference, the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, and Stockton University.
