Robert Zheng Appointed to TIMI Board

Robert Zheng, vice president, WATG, has been appointed to serve on the board of TIM International, Inc. (TIMI), the alumni association of the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The purpose of TIMI is to provide active leadership in support of the School of Travel Industry Management through membership participation, image enhancement, financial commitment, and promotion of synergies among students, faculty, alumni and friends.

TIMI recently founded the $35,000 TIM International Endowment Scholarship to support TIM students and their education in travel industry management. Additionally, TIMI contributed to the Chuck Yim Gee Educational Scholarship Endowment and made donations to PATA Hawaii and HTLA in 2013.

Zheng, an alumnus of the School of Travel Industry Management, is WATG’s director of development with a focus on the growing Asia market. After a five-year stint in Singapore to help open, grow and stabilize the fledgling WATG office, Zheng relocated back to the WATG’s Honolulu office in 2012 to concentrate on the rising Hawaii and South Pacific markets while still continuing to service the Asia market. He served as president of the Hawaii Mainland China Overseas Association and has led various China related seminars and university classes in Hawaii. Robert is also an active participant in travel and hospitality conferences around the world.

TIM International , Inc. (TIMI), is the alumni association of the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM) at the University of Hawai’i at M?noa. It was formed in 1968 under the guidance of then Dean Chuck Gee. In March 1973, TIM International, received its charter of incorporation from the State of Hawai’i and was recognized as a non-profit corporation. The association has grown with the TIM School, which has over 4,000 alumni worldwide.
