About

Rafael Velazquez brings to the team over 30 years of experience in project management, design, and construction documentation and administration. Since joining WATG in 1993, he has coordinated and managed project team efforts on a number of major hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects around the globe. Rafael was project architect during all design and construction phases of the Tropicana Casino & Resort Expansion in Atlantic City, The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, which includes 3,036 luxury hotel suites, a 100,000 square-foot casino, and over 500,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment space in the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Rafael was project manager on The Lodge at Torrey Pines, a 175-room hotel in La Jolla, California; as well as Meritage Commons, a new luxury resort to include a boutique hotel and Retail Village in Napa, California. His recent efforts include both the Courtyard Marriott and Marriott Hotel at the Irvine Spectrum, Irvine; Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, which consists of a new 48-story hotel tower with over 2,000 rooms, a casino, retail shops and restaurants; the Four Seasons Anguilla Resort & Residences, which includes a five-star hotel, condominium residences, resort townhouses and spa; and the San Manuel Bingo and Casino, Highland, California, including an extensive rebranding and expansion into Yaamava’ Resort and Casino.
