Some of the recent locales our designers have been working in include: Kazakhstan, a country larger than all of Western Europe; Cape Verde, which is located on an archipelago off the western coast of Africa; and the island of Dominica in the Caribbean.

Visionary Client Dato' Terry Tham
Managing Director, E&O Property Development

Over the course of three decades, Dato' Tham has been responsible for numerous prestigious residential developments in Kuala Lumpur as well as the restoration and refurbishment of two historic hotels on Penang island – the 125-year-old Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Hotel (renovated by WATG) and Lone Pine Hotel. He is also the client behind St. Mary's Mixed-Use Residential and Retail in Kuala Lumpur and Seri Tanjung Pinang, an emerging waterfront community in Penang.

Thought Leader Tom Williams

Tom Williams is a senior designer and a LEED-accredited professional based in WATG's Seattle office. He has worked on projects in Hawaii and all over Asia; and, in the last two years, he has been to Vietnam at least 20 times for various projects. In that period, he has seen the country take off in terms of hospitality development.

Just Announced

Woodbine Development Corporation today announced details of a $35-million expansion and renovation of its Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio. The project will essentially double the resort's indoor function space, triple its pre-function space, add new outdoor function space, enhance and freshen guestrooms and landscaping, as well as expand the ever-popular water park to include a FlowRider® wave machine and a tower slide. Woodbine is managing the project, with WATG and Wimberly Interiors providing interior design services; HKS Hill Glazier Studio as architect of record; Rialto Studio, Inc., managing landscape improvements; and Hardin Construction Company, L.L.C., as general contractor. The entire project will be completed by fall 2013, with portions of the project completed in the spring of 2013. The resort opened as Texas' first true destination resort in February 1993 and will celebrate 20 years of successful operation in 2013.
