Spa Resort Casino |
Palm Springs, California, USA |

CHALLENGE The design challenge was to create a new upscale casino -- one with a casual elegance -- that would become a prominent feature of downtown Palm Springs and blend harmoniously with the surrounding residential and commercial areas.
SOLUTION Situated diagonally across from the existing property, a two-story casino structure was designed to represent the Agua Caliente people, with cream-colored exterior stucco walls, blue tiled roof, rounded turrets, numerous water features and abundant foliage around the exterior. The main entrance incorporates a circular driveway ringed by a plant-covered trellis sidewalk and palm trees. The decor includes a tribute to the tribe's history and various appropriate tribal artifacts.
