Renaissance Tianjin Teda Hotel and Convention Centre |
Teda, Tianjin, China |

CHALLENGE The design challenge was to work within the constraints of a partially-completed structure to create a world-class business hotel and a full-service conference center to accommodate national and international dignitaries.
SOLUTION Derived from the geometry of the existing structure, an undulating glazed wall was designed to complement the sweeping curve of the building. A colonnade fronts the entry façade and ties the hotel tower to the conference center. The focal point of the Conference Center is an illuminated and domed rotunda housing specialized conference halls. Skylights bring natural light into the public areas and enliven gathering spaces.
