CHALLENGE The design challenge was to create a five-star water village-inspired resort, while utilizing as many cultural elements as possible in the building materials and landscape.

SOLUTION The property was designed to be in harmony with the mountain, lake, and cultural points of interest. The use of traditional building materials were complemented with salvaged stone and artifacts creating a fresh interpretation of Southern China style. With gently sloping roof and exposed wood beams, interior detail, strategically located fireplaces, great care has been taken to maintain a water village ambiance.
