CHALLENGE The challenge was to design a facility that provides an improved healing environment and accommodations for patients' families in a friendlier and more hospitable setting.
SOLUTION In the early planning stages, the design team's approach was to put "hospitality" within a hospital while still maintaining up-to-date medical facilities. Views of outdoor garden areas and views to the Pacific Ocean adds to the healing environment.
SIZE 76,000 sf, includes 24 new med-surgical beds, 16 additional ICU beds, ambulatory services, physical & outpatient therapy
