Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa

CHALLENGE The challenge was to design a resort with retail, banquet space and maximum guestroom ocean views with a distinctively Hawaiian appeal.

SOLUTION The octagonal twin-tower configuration increased the number of ocean-view rooms. The retail component was critical to the economic viability of this project so a three-story podium, and a circulation pattern that sends hotel guests past the shops on the upper levels was a key design element.
