Confidential Boutique Resort

CHALLENGE The design challenge was to create a unique resort experience while accommodating the extensive program into a compact site.

SOLUTION Landscaped courtyards and smaller pavilion-style architecture was incorporated to improve the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces and enable guests to focus on the surrounding gardens and views. The guestrooms on the ground level are seamlessly woven into the garden and entries are on the courtyard side instead of the traditional guestroom corridor access. The upper-level guestrooms enjoy tree canopy views, as straight bamboo stems extend into the balcony space. The pavilions were built upon a series of islands in the water and connected with bridges and pathways, creating their own unique water gardens and pavilion landscapes.
