	12/16/2008 - Wind Swept Live Design Mohegan Sun is showing its impressive hand with the new Casino of the Wind, a 64,000-sq.ft. facility designed by the Rockwell Group and architects WATG. The space opened this past summer and features over 650 slot machines, a 42-table poker room with 23 50" flat screen televisions, 28 additional gaming tables, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and the newly revamped Chief's Deli. Key design elements featured in the new space include a 35'×50' electronic and animated water feature that acts as a projection screen, four 35' stacked solid glass columns, and a custom chandelier located above the new 30-seat bar. 	7/6/2007 - $740 million Casino Project Underway in CT Interior Design Magazine The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has a large-scale casino project underway in Uncasville, Connecticut. Priced at $740 million, the Project Horizon expansion is estimated for completion in 2010. Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo is architect of record for the project and Skanska USA Building was recently named construction manager for the Northern expansion portion, which carries a construction cost of $350 million. CHALLENGE The challenge was to renovate the existing Royal Suites in the Sky Tower within a limited budget, reflecting the interior proposed by WATG for the Earth Tower (Mohegan Sun Horizon project) while maintaining most of the existing architectural features. This space would be a showcase for the proposed Earth Tower interiors.

SOLUTION We used native tribal elements, colors and patterns that reflect earth tones and symbols, as originally used in the Earth Tower, to re-create a space that is grand, warm and comfortable. Due to budget restraints, we also re-used several existing furniture pieces throughout the space, which we refinished and reupholstered (making it like a sustainable suite).

SIZE Two Royal Suites, each 3,534 sq. ft.

AMENITIES Two Master Suites -- one with a parlor and dressing area, butler pantry/kitchen and bar. Hotel amenities include 3 casinos, spa, stadium for concerts venues, high-end retail shops, and a variety of restaurants.
